About Us
Who we are
"Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, that you do to me" (Mathew 25:40).
According
to the report of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recently published for
the year 2019, about 40 percent of the total population of Nigeria lives below
the poverty line of the country. This percentage amounts roughly to 83 million
people. In addition, the unemployment rate continues to widen as many young people
stay without sources of living after living school. The most disturbing aspect
of all this is that there is no reasonable or tangible sign of improvement.
The future of the poor masses continues to appear bleak. Is there any hope for
the poor man; for the orphans, the widows, the downtrodden, in Nigeria?
Deeply
occupied by this question, the founders of this organization came together to
seek a solution to the problem. They are made up of persons from different
works of life but united with a common agenda of making life better for the
poor masses in any little way possible. The motivation is solely Christocentric
(that is, based on the Love and Mercy of Jesus Christ) and that is the reason for its
name: Divine Love and Mercy Foundation. In other words, We are
driven by the words of Jesus in the Gospel: "Whatever you do to the least
of my brothers and sisters, that you do to me" (Matthew 25:40)
